Mamina
Mamina, the daughter of renowned actress Rukmini, was one of the popular comedic actresses in the Odia cinema scene during her peak, while also delivering powerful performances in character roles. She began her illustrious career with the film Gauri in 1976 and has acted in over 100 films throughout her career.
Her on-screen pairing with the comedy legend Jayiram Samal was quite the trendsetter in the Odia cinema during the 1980s and 1990s. Fondly remembered as the Jayi-Mamina jodi, they were part of over 100 film projects, igniting the silver screen with their chemistry and humor.
Mamina is best remembered for her powerful performances in films such as Sri Jagannath, Mathura Bijaya, Chinha Achinha (1979), Jhiati Sita Pari (1983), Jaga Hatare Pagha and Chaka Bhaunri (1985), Chha’ Mana Atha Guntha (1986) and Sakhi Rahiba Mo Sankha Sindura (1996).
