Sarada Prasanna Naik
Sarada Prasanna Naik was a film director, actor, TV producer, singer, lyricist and screenplay writer in Odia films, best known for Laxmi (1962), Sansar (1971) and Stree (1968).
Sarada Prasanna Naik started his film career by working as an assistant director in the film, Bhakta Jayadev, in 1956. The Odia film, Laxmi (1962), directed by him had won the President’s Award in 1962. Besides, he was associated with memorable films like Kaa and Stree (1968). He was simultaneously active in films, television and theatre. He was more popular as a lyricist who had penned more than 200 songs for film, radio, television and theatre. In 2013, the state government had conferred him with the Jaydev Award, the highest award in Odia cinema.
