Acting
Sarat Mohanty, originally from Khirkona in Balasore district, began his acting journey at Annapurna Theatre. In 1962, he marked his debut in the movie ‘Laxmi’. It was his role as the son of renowned cine artist Krushna Chandra Pandey that brought him immense fame, particularly for his memorable dialogues in the film. Sarat Mohanty then went on to star in a string of successful movies, such as ‘Kaa’, ‘Amada Bata’, ‘Stree’, ‘Mala Janha’, ‘Bhuli Huena’, ‘Puja Phoola’, and ‘Sakala Tirtha To Charane’. One of his standout moments was being featured in the popular song ‘Eta Kalikala Reeti Re’ in the movie ‘Amada Bata’.
Throughout his career, Sarat showcased his comedic brilliance and versatility by working in over 50 films and TV series. His presence on screen was always a delight, as he effortlessly charmed audiences with his comic timing and amusing performances.
