Note:
Jajabara was the first black-and-white film in Odia, digitally colorized and re-released in the state. Bapu Lenka of Home Video oversaw the colorization process and it was released on Video CD as Rangin Jajabara (Colourized Jajabara).
Jajabara marks the first film appearance of acclaimed comedian and character actor Jayaram Samal (Jayee), alongside actresses Banaja Mohanty and Anita Das. Renowned producer and distributor, Basant Naik, associated with Jajabara movie for the first time as a co-producer and distributor.
Plot:
Rashbihari Samantrai, a landlord, has two sons – Anu and Arup. Anu, an industrialist, intends to establish an industry in ‘Sundari Tota’, a location owned by his father and inhabited by rural residents. However, Rashbihari had pledged to gift ‘Sundari Tota’, to his spiritual leader for constructing an Ashram. The villagers implore Rashbihari to refrain from displacing them from ‘Sundari Tota’, as they have resided there for many years. Arup, the younger son, is enamored with a village girl named Jhili. The villagers, supported by Jhili’s father, oppose the decision to donate the land to the spiritual guru. Eventually, Arup persuades his father to retain the land and marries Jhili.
