Producer Debi Prasad Das, a graduate in Cinematography from the Film Institute, Poona, had a strong desire to make a film. With support from his friends, he established his own production banner, Om Pictures. To fund the project, he secured a loan from Syndicate Bank, Bhubaneswar. He was particularly encouraged by Sachi Panda, a contractor from Nayagarh and a passionate art enthusiast, who also contributed financially to the film.
The songs were recorded at Gemini Studio, Madras. Outdoor sequences were filmed in Nayagarh, while indoor scenes were shot in a studio in Madras. Sujata Movietone, Madras provided the lighting and camera equipment. The total production cost amounted to Rs. 5,25,000.
