Renowned businessman Purnachandra Jena from Badgad, Bhubaneswar ventured into filmmaking upon the suggestion of friends. He established his production banner, Nilakantha Movies, and produced his sole film, Sakshi Gopinath. Despite sharing its title with a well-known folk tale, the film’s narrative was purely fictional and unrelated to the traditional story.
Sakshi Gopinath also marked the debut of Basudeb Rath as a music composer.
