Career and Achievements

Throughout his career, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das has received numerous accolades for his performances. He was honored with the Odisha State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film Asha in 1993. His portrayal of Mahima Sadhu in the Odia film Sunya Swarupa (1997) earned him national and international recognition, including awards in India and Moscow.

In the film Pratikshya (2022), Jayaprakash Das’s portrayal of a father was lauded, earning him a National Award and selection for the International Film Festival in Goa. The film is set to be remade in Hindi by renowned actor and director Anupam Kher. Jayaprakash Das has appeared in over 150 films in various languages and over 70 serials in Odia, showcasing his talent and versatility in the industry. He’s the writer of the Odia film Mo Mana Khali Tumari Pain (1995).

Choudhury Jayaprakash Das was the first lead actor on an OTT Platform in Odisha. In the Odia mini series Rabana Podi (2018), he portrayed an elderly grandfather eagerly anticipating the arrival of his grandson.

Choudhury Jayaprakash Das is not the only talented actor in the family. His brother, Choudhury Bikash Das, is also a well-known actor. They have even starred in a couple of projects together, such as the film Adieu Godard (2023) and the web series Anthony (2023).
