Govind Tej
Govind Tej was an actor, write, producer and director in Odia films. He was born on May 26, 1928 in Amalapada, Angul. After completing his schooling in Angul, he studied engineering at Cuttack Engineering College. After completing his education, he started working as a civil engineer. Later he also done teaching for a few days. He left his job to act in films. He received his doctorate from Utkal University of Culture and Tirupati University. He was the founder director of the National Music Association, a music institution in Cuttack.

Career in Odia films
Govind Tej started his acting career in 1954 with the movie ‘Kedar Gauri’. Govind became producer with his own banner ‘New Life Production’ and produced ‘Krushna Sudama’. He directed movies like Ramayan, Kaberi, School Master, Tunda Baida, Jai Shri Ram, Gare Sindura Dhare Luha. As an actor has acted in Kedar Gouri, Gouri, Dharitri, Bandhu Mohanty, Naga Phasa, School Master, Tunda Baida, Raghu Arakshita and many more.
